Benefits of Knowing Your Life's Purpose? Here Are 9 of Them!

2/7/2022

Do you know your life’s purpose? Most people don’t. In fact, few people have even considered it. That’s a shame, because knowing your life’s purpose makes life more exciting and satisfying.

Imagine being excited to live each day! Most people dread getting up and spend the week waiting for the weekend.

Determining your life’s purpose is worthy of your time and consideration!

Consider these ideas:

    1. It’s easier to plan your day. Most people spend their day trying to figure out what to do. When you don’t have a clear objective and purpose, it’s easy to become lost. What are you attempting to achieve each day?

   2. It’s easier to resist distractions. Your life’s purpose is something that’s compelling to you. Distractions are hard to resist when your life feels meaningless, or you feel bored. Your ability to focus is enhanced when you know your purpose.

Finding Your Life's Purpose

Someone is Knocking at the Door,
Somebody is Ringing Your Bell!

Do Yourself a Favor, Open the Door,
Let Them In!

Have you ever felt that you are in a place, that although it’s good, and you are doing okay, you just KNOW it’s not where you’re supposed to be? Not what you were designed for? It’s not your destiny?

Frustrating isn’t it? And all the while the clock is ticking, time is passing, you’re getting older, and STILL you have that feeling.

What are you to do? Surely you can figure it out. You’re smart. You’ve got a good handle on life, so why can’t you figure it out? Why is it that although you can see clearly what you are NOT supposed to be doing, you have no idea what you ARE destined to do?

What if there were a simpler, more direct way of knowing what you should be doing with your life that required nothing more than for you to pay attention to just TWO things as you go about your daily routine?

These are those two things...

#1. AWARENESS

Thinking isn’t the answer. If it was, you would have found the solution a long time ago. So, avoid spending your time trying to come up with the answer. Just pay attention to what and who shows up in your life with monotonous regularity.

The longer you pay attention the easier it becomes to identify what you should be doing. This is because it has been showing up in your life, most likely for years.

However, you’ve been either setting it aside or dismissing it, because you cannot see how it can be done, how it can make enough money, or maybe you don’t have the experience for it.

For example:

● When you’re on social media, what stories are you drawn to? What do you read the most? What do you comment on the most?

● What about TV? When you’re scrolling the channels, which ones do you stop at the most, go back to the most, and watch the most?

● If you go to a bookstore, what sections do you visit the most? What books do you reach out for the most? What books do you read the most?

● When you meet people, either in person or over the internet, what topics of conversation do you find the most engaging?

● What interviews do you enjoy the most on YouTube? What Podcasts do you find that you relate to the most?

If you pay attention, you’ll see a pattern emerge about what and who you resonate with. You’ll soon identify what it is that draws your attention. You’ll notice what intrigues, fascinates, or inspires you.

Start taking notes about what continues to show up in your life that you can relate to, or what you keep coming back to.

The penny will drop that these same things have been showing up for years. They have been knocking on your door for a LONG time!

Make a list of all the topics that show up in your life on a regular basis. Put the most compelling at the top. These are the ones that are knocking at your door AND ringing your bell.

Maybe it’s TIME - time to let them in.

Which brings us to….

 #2. FEELINGS

Next, seek clarity. How do you feel about those topics that show up with regularity?

Ask yourself these questions:

● What is it about (topic) that gets to me?

● Why does it get to me?

● How long has it been getting to me? (Much longer than you thought, right?)

● If I got fully engaged in THAT, how would that make me feel?

● What action can I take RIGHT NOW that would move me closer to that feeling? DO IT! ...and do it immediately. Make that call, write that email, and search on YouTube or Google. Join a forum of like-minded people. Take a step forward, and it will move a step closer to you.

What about the people you meet, engage with, or listen to?

● Notice how you feel about your connection with them. If possible, tell them how you feel about that interaction. Ask if you can talk further.

● Find out what it is that draws you, intrigues you, or makes listening or engaging with them so compelling. Write it down and see what pattern emerges from your feelings.

Then, ask yourself these questions:

● What is it about (Name) that makes me feel good?

● What is it about (Name) that inspires me?

● Why does it make me feel that way?

● What action can I take RIGHT NOW that would move me towards feeling that way all the time? DO IT!  ...and do it NOW. Don’t wait. Act immediately on things that make you feel good if you want to live a fulfilling and compelling life.

You may have a lengthy list of things that move you. But you will soon see that certain items draw more of your attention than others.

Those are the ones you should follow up on first. Action is key. Why? Because INACTION has been your default for a very long time on some of these most compelling topics, hasn’t it?

Time to Change All That and Change It TODAY!

If you want to cut the fluff, wasted time, and wasted energy from your life, AND the people who suck the life out of you, repeat this exercise often.

Take action often and you will soon find that everything you think, do, and say will become part of a whole new you.

A YOU that has the most fulfilling and compelling life imaginable! And along with it will come time you never thought you had and money you never thought you would earn to LIVE IT!

Top 10 Things You Should Do Right After Making Your New Year's Resolution!

12/31/2021

As many people do this time of year, chances are that you're planning to make a New Year's Resolution. Or maybe you’ve already made one. For example, you might have vowed to start writing more or get fit.

Your desire is admirable, but sometimes it isn't easy to keep resolutions from slipping through your fingers. Most people fail to meet their New Year's resolution because they don’t have a plan.

To complete your goal, it’s important to have a specific action plan carefully considered. It's also crucial for your success that you write down when, where, and exactly how you intend to execute this plan to reach the finish line.

These tips can help you crush your New Year's resolution:

1. Pick one item at a time. Take your time and focus on your most important goal at the moment. It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you have many things to do at the same time, so prioritize one goal.

2. Make your goal specific. You’re more likely to achieve your resolution if you know what it is. Identify specific behaviors and activities you will do to fulfill the dream, which can be as simple as reading more books or making time for exercise each day. Include a timeline for completion and the steps necessary to reach the goal. 1

3. Take your time to plan. Write down the steps toward the resolution and plan out how you're going to get there. Organization is vital: you might want to write down which days of the week are best for completing your goal, what time of day works best for you, and what tools will help you reach success.

4. Start small. For example, if you want to read more books, you don't have to start reading a novel right away. Start with one chapter at a time and keep track of how many pages and hours you read each day. For example, if you want to walk 30 minutes each day, start by walking 5 minutes once a day and gradually build up over time.

5. Avoid expecting too much too quickly. You might feel tempted to make a resolution that requires you to reach a certain level of physical fitness right away, but it's a good idea to set realistic expectations.

6.Publicize your resolution. Tell your goal to others close to you and ask them to keep you in check if they notice that you're not sticking to the plan.

7. Get a partner to keep you accountable. Tell your partner that you're making a plan to stick with your resolution and ask them to hold you responsible by checking in with you regularly. For example, if you want to write more, ask them to help you schedule your writing time into your daily routine, and if you wish to exercise, get them to join you for some extra encouragement.

8.Reward yourself. Rewards are an effective way to boost your morale. You might give yourself a little break once you've reached your resolution, or you can reward yourself with a small gift when you complete the first step in your goal.

9. Learn from your past New Year’s resolution failures. Perhaps you haven't had the best luck with resolutions in the past. That's an excellent opportunity to determine what went wrong and what you can do differently this time around. 2

10. Express gratitude for completing tasks, even little ones. Appreciate all the little things along the way. If you reach a milestone in getting your resolution done, express how happy you are about that achievement. Write down how much you enjoy the feeling of accomplishment and gratitude for doing something good for yourself.

Regardless of how difficult it is to make -- and keep -- a New Year's resolution, you can accomplish it. Remember to write down what you’d like to accomplish.

Then, focus on a specific goal and achieve that one before you go on to a new one.

With a plan in place and following these strategies, step by step, you’ll find that your New Year’s resolution isn’t so hard to stick with after all!

Good luck and Au revoir 2021! 2022 ready or not here we come!!
