People doubt themselves and their abilities. When it becomes a chronic situation, it can hold people back from getting what they want. Confidence will break through the barriers caused by obstacles.
You have to learn to recognize when an obstacle is holding you back. Sometimes, people make excuses for their situations and pretend like they don’t exist. For instance, you could be faced with a family member who has a substance abuse problem. It’s difficult to approach the person and people ignore that a problem exists. They just keep pretending as if the person does not have a problem with the hope that the situation will resolve itself.
However, the person may be crying out for help and is looking for someone who has the courage to stand up to their addiction. If you are in that position, you may want to find ways to find that strength. The addict may resist you and may do so for some time. But, if they know you care and you keep at it to confront the situation, they do hear it deep down, especially if they really are looking to get help. You do have to be aware if they don’t want help, your efforts will not amount to much, unfortunately.
Self-doubt can also cripple you when others don’t have confidence in you. For instance, if your manager has reasons to doubt your abilities, he is constantly going to be harping on at you about your work. This may cause you to doubt yourself and the situation will continue in a nasty loop. In such cases, you need to find out why he feels this way and try to work with him to help figure out what you can do to alleviate the situation. Just having this meeting can show your manager you have confidence which could be the catalyst to turn around the situation.
Confidence is going to be your greatest ally when trying to overcome self-doubt. This isn’t easy for everyone to come to grips with and it does take courage. But, once you gain the confidence, you will find there is no stopping you. Dealing with most obstacles will become easier for you which will lead to you succeeding more often. Many people find that after they get past a certain situation, they wondered why it took them as long as it did. It doesn’t matter, though. As long as you eventually gain that confidence, you can make happen whatever you need to.

Everyone seems intent on ironing out imperfections, from using social media filters on selfies to consciously curating their lives. It appears that any level of imperfection is intolerable, and failure is a catastrophe. And for most people that is just setting yourself up for an unhappy, unfulfilled life as the mirage of perfection moves further and further away.
Here are six good reasons to stop chasing that mirage and learn to embrace yourself as you are, imperfections and all.
You stay focused on what’s important
Perfectionists tend to get derailed by the slightest mistake or little thing that doesn't go right. They agonize over details; they get in their way. If you keep your eye on what you want to achieve, not some unattainable ideal, you’ll be much more likely to reach your goals.
You’ll feel lighter and happier
Making peace with your imperfections relieves you instantly of a whole bunch of stress. Your Inner Critic can stand down and put its feet up, allowing you to relax and get on with your life, unburdened by not feeling good enough. Liberated from the need to be seen to be perfect, you’ll feel a lot happier and more content with who you are and what you’ve got.
It’s easier to stay in the present
If you accept yourself for who you are, it becomes much easier to stay in the present and feel grateful for your life. Instead of anxiously chasing future goals or beating yourself up for past mistakes, you can be comfortable with the here and now, knowing you’re doing your best.
You’ll be more compassionate
Once you’ve stopped judging yourself for every little thing, you’ll find it easier to be kinder and more compassionate towards other people. You’ll be more patient and not get irritated by quirks or habits where previously you might have reacted. Embracing perfection makes you a lot less reactive all round.
Your relationships will improve
Being a more accepting person will strengthen your relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. Accepting that imperfection and mistakes are a normal part of life means that you become a lot less ego-driven, and judgmental. You might even become a role model for others!
You get a different perspective on life
Once you accept that flaws and mistakes are normal, and a part of the human experience, you will be more resilient and grounded. You become more aware of the bigger picture, and that life’s not all about you.
There is something powerful about embracing your perfect imperfections. The word itself says IM-PERFECT. Embrace it!!
Skies The Limit,
If you are unhappy where you are in life, it could be you are not creating the right vision about yourself. Think back to recent thoughts you had. Were they negative thoughts or feelings like you’ve hit a roadblock?
Shift your focus to a life that you want or a person that you want to become. If you want to have a life similar to an idol of yours, read about how that idol has become a success and use that as a guideline to help you accomplish something similar.
When you create a positive image within your mind, it will set up neural pathways to help you reach your goals. The more you reinforce this mental image the more pathways will be created. If there is information available online that can help you with your vision, use it to your advantage.
When you have determined your vision and the steps you believe will help you get there, continue to imagine that vision. Do this on a daily basis. Your brain will get so used to this vision it will become a subconscious process.
This is not to say you can’t alter your plan or your vision. There may be something you thought you wanted, but as you progress, you find this not to be the case. There is nothing wrong with that. If this happens, create another vision and move on from there. Your brain will form pathways for this new vision.
If your vision is fine but the plan is not getting you where you need to be, don’t be afraid to make changes with it. Plans are guidelines only. They can be changed as needed. This can happen when new information comes to light along the way, information which wasn’t available when you first got started.
Be prepared for criticism while creating this new vision for yourself. It is yours and yours alone. People may not understand what you are trying to shoot for. Hold to your beliefs and prove them wrong. Your critics are not the ones who have to live with the vision you make for yourself. You will find when you reach your goals those same critics will suddenly be on your side. They will even claim to have been there for you all along. It’s annoying, but that is how people behave. It’s not worth the aggravation. Just move on with your vision and let them think whatever they want.
